A couple years ago, I had the opportunity to email chat with designer Tula Pink about her then-new book Tula Pink’s City Sampler for Stitch Craft Create. I have loved her ever since. If you’re not familiar with Tula or her brand, here’s the quick rundown: She’s a former music industry designer/art director with a love for sewing and quilting. Wanting more fabrics to sew with that reflected her personal style, she decided to just make them herself. That landed her a job as a fabric designer, and the rest was history. She is now a FreeSpirit Fabrics designer, author and all-around sewing and quilting superstar known for her whimsical, wonderful designs.
A few months ago, Tula announced she was releasing an adult coloring book featuring her signature illustrations. I bought it as soon as it was available for pre-order, and this week it finally arrived! I’ve had so much fun looking through the designs and can’t wait to start coloring. The book includes more than 75 designs and the pages are one-sided and perforated so you can easily tear out your favorites and frame them. I have a feeling my office is soon going to have lots of fun Tula coloring book page decor!
The coloring book is far from Tula’s only new project though – she also just launched an exclusive 12-part video series named Tula’s House on QNNtv. In the series, Tula opens the doors to her studio to share her life, inspirations and creative process as you watch her design her new fabric line, Eden, and learn how she takes her concepts from sketch to fabric.
Our sister site Keepsake Quilting also has a new collection of exclusive project kits designed by Tula’s favorite designers using Tula’s fabrics. One of my favorites is this pretty Palace Floor table runner kit. Each kit comes with patterns, instructions and all the Tula fabrics you need to start stitching.
