Little Bonnet: Beginning French Sewing by Machine Workshop

1 – 5 p.m.
For those who want to do it all, start your day at a Baby Lock sewing machine when you join Kathy McMakin for Little Bonnet: Beginning French Sewing by Machine. “Little French Bonnet” is loved the world over and is possibly the most well attended class at Martha Pullen. It’s the perfect project for those who have never done any heirloom sewing, those who need a refresher course or those who want a handmade, precious baby gift. The techniques used to create the bonnet are basic, but each one is necessary for all heirloom sewing projects. Class is full of tips; tricks; correct stitch settings; tried and true techniques for attaching batiste, French lace, Swiss embroidered insertion, entredeux and satin ribbons; as well as gathering and attaching a ruffle, which are all demonstrated in this little baby bonnet. We promise a time of enjoyment, valuable sewing education and a completed bonnet. Classroom opens at 12:15 p.m.. Class begins at 1 p.m. and ends by 5 p.m. (‘recess time’ included so you can join in some of the mini-clinics, below).

Mini-Clinics and Shopping
Open House 2:30 – 6 p.m.
Your “Evening with Martha” can actually begin mid-afternoon. Arrive at 2:30 p.m. and you won’t miss a thing! It’ll be an “open house” all afternoon – a place where you’ll find inspiration and feed your creative spirit in both fun and practical ways. See how to use the latest notions and execute both classic and new techniques as you move from station to station, visiting mini-clinics presented by our Martha Pullen Licensing staff and the talented staff from Moore’s Sewing Center.

As always, there will be a special shopping area for all who attend with machines, accessories, fabrics, heirloom laces and supplies, fabrics, specialty notions and more – all at outstanding event pricing.

Hors d’oeuvres, Sweets & Beverages 5:15 – 6:15 p.m.

An Evening with Martha Pullen
6:30 – 8 p.m.
Complete your day with laughter and the camaraderie that only a group of sewing friends can create, when Martha appears to tell some of life’s best true stories. Share the joys of a sewing life with each other as you laugh out loud, learn a few new tricks to take home to your sewing room and more. Her infectious enthusiasm and genuine warmth will fill you with memorable moments.
