Don’t miss the opportunity to learn from one of our favorite sewing teachers, Kari Mecca, at our School of Art Fashion Boutiques in Lakeland, Fla. March 2-4 and Atlanta, Ga. March 9-11! Kari is the owner and designer of Kari Me Away, a business catering to those who love sewing, embellishing and hand embroidery. She has been an inspirational force in creating new and clever ways to inspire sewists for many years, and her eye for the unexpected, combined with her ability to capture the magic of childhood, makes her designs uniquely appealing. Kari will be teaching the “Sewing With Whimsy School” at our March School of Art Fashion Boutiques, where you can make two garments – the “Bow & Bouquet Dress” and the “Sweet & Sassy Baby Bubble” – for your precious daughters or granddaughters. Take a sneak peek at these two adorable designs:
Bow & Bouquet Dress – Artfully embellished with Kari’s unique whimsy trims, this A-line dress goes from sweetly classic to simply unforgettable! Learn to make a bouquet of quick and easy spaghetti-outlined appliqué with Whimsy Stick ribbon flowers. Dress features a contrasting bow front collar and hem band. Made in quarter foil prints, the dress looks modern while allowing the embellishments to become the focal point of this blooming beauty! Dress sizes 2 – 6.
Sassy & Sweet Baby Bubble – This charming baby bubble features a sleeveless bodice with clever overlapped side seams and is made in gingham with mini piping along the edges. The bubble is trimmed with bright blooming Whimsy Stick flowers and medallions with button and spaghetti trims. Use a contrasting print for the gathered body of the bubble, with elastic leg openings, of course! Sizes 12 – 24 months.
