We are busy preparing for our upcoming live and in-person fall events, and I thought I’d tell you a little more about all the fun stuff we have coming up on our calendar. First, we’ll head to Fredericksburg, VA at the end of this month for a School of Art Fashion Boutique, then we’ll be in Costa Mesa, CA in November for two back-to-back Martha Pullen Teacher Licensing events: Serger II and Vintage, Classic Contemporary, plus a Martha Pullen & More event. Read on below to learn more about what’s in store for these events!

September School of Art Fashion Boutique
Sept. 28-30, 2015; Fredericksburg, VA
We’re heading to Fredericksburg, VA in a couple weeks for our September School of Art Fashion Boutique! We have five great sewing schools – create an elegant christening gown or child’s dress with Connie Palmer, sew a coordinating set of organizational projects with Missy Billingsley, make a comfy knit ensemble with Linda Lee, create a perfectly tailored jacket with Cynthia Guffey or master your serger with me!

Serger II Licensing
Nov. 1-6, 2015; Costa Mesa, CA
We are retiring this licensing curriculum this year, so take it while you still can! This licensing will give you more than 20 fantastic serger projects, ranging from heirloom to whimsical to classic design. You’ll enjoy an exciting mix of quilting, baby, children, adult and home decorating projects. By the way, it’s also important to note that the Serger I course is not a prerequisite for Serger II – they are just two different serger licensing curriculums.

Martha Pullen & More
Nov. 7, 2015; Costa Mesa, CA
Want to see us while we’re in California, but can’t come to one of the licensing events? Join us for our Martha Pullen and More event sponsored by Moore’s Sewing Studio and Baby Lock. The day will include shopping, mini clinics, a hands-on heirloom sewing workshop where I will teach you how to make my “Little French Bonnet” and the grand finale: An Evening with Martha Pullen. You can choose from purchasing an all-day ticket or just an evening ticket.

Vintage Classic Contemporary Licensing
Nov. 8-13, 2015; Costa Mesa, CA
I am so excited to premiere this newest licensing curriculum. The assortment of styles and designs in the 20 projects you’ll receive in the curriculum forms a collection of sweet, cute, cuddly, charming, sassy, timeless, traditional, beautiful and elegant projects … now you just can’t beat that! Registration is full for this event, but we do have a waiting list available.

Of course, you can still sign up for our Serger I Online Licensing course through the end of September! Have you missed anything? Not at all. You can watch the videos and work on the assignments at your own pace and on your own schedule! The curriculum in this course includes over 20 serger projects complete with written instructions and accompanying how-to videos.

We have a fun giveaway happening on our blog this week – you can comment on the blog post for a chance to win a Cuddle Baby Blanket Kit Giveaway from Shannon Fabrics, who we have partnered with for our live and in-person licensing events. Hurry, we are picking winners Monday, September 21.

For more fall sewing fun, check out our Schoolhouse A-Line Smocked Dress Kit – this was designed by Gail Doane and was featured in the final issue of Sew Beautiful. The kit is for sizes 2T – 8 and you can choose from green with blue trim or red with yellow trim.

We pray for the men and women serving our nation in harm’s way, and for all of you.

Much Love to You All & May God Bless,
Kathy McMakin

    Dear Martha:

I want to extend my condolences to you on the loss of your sweet Joe. Lost my husband in 2008, (rough time) but I found someone in 2012, And we got married in 2013. Gary and I were married 32 years and my new husband and his late wife were married almost 40 years.

I was wondering are you going to have any events in Texas? I went to a couple of your markets in Arlington and so enjoyed them. Too many pretty things to comprehend. So I hope and pray you will come back to our Lone Star State before too long.

    Blessings, Mickie Crawford
