Queen Anne's Lace Jacket
Beverley Sheldrick - 3 Days (Hand & Machine)
Legend has it Queen Anne of England, an expert lace maker, challenged her ladies to a contest to see who could make a pattern of lace as lovely as this wildflower. Of course, the Queen's lace was indeed the finest, and the wild flower was fittingly named.
While strolling through a clothing museum, Beverley was intrigued by a vintage ladies coat embellished with hand embroideries of lovely Queen Anne's lace flowers. Being the master of silk ribbon embroidery, Beverley duplicated this cluster of tiny lace-like flowers with their long stems and leaves in silk ribbon embroidery by hand. She will share her mastery as you create a beautiful black silk dupioni jacket embellished with these silk ribbon embroidered flowers in tones of beige and cream. The basic jacket pattern will be from Martha Pullen's Six Easy Patterns for Women book and will be available in sizes XS through 3XL. The jacket will feature long sleeves and will be fully lined.
Special Occasion Bag
Beverley Sheldrick - 1 Day (Hand & Machine)
The perfect handbag always adds the finishing touch needed for a special outfit or occasion, and we have asked Beverley to create a coordinating special occasion bag to accessorize the beautiful school jacket. The handbag will be made of the same black silk dupioni with just a touch of silk ribbon embroidery by hand.
