The School Registration desk will be set up in the lobby of the VBC South Hall on Sunday (February 3rd). Please see General Schedule of events for times. The School Registration Desk will move to the VBC South Hall 1 on Monday morning, February 4th. |
| 2. |
During the pre-day's (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) as well as the 4-day school (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) adult classes will be held at the VBC. One shuttle bus will be available from the Holiday Inn to the VBC beginning at 7:30 am on Monday. Please see “Important Facts” sheet. |
| 3. |
The Martha Pullen Retail Store will open on Monday morning at 7:30am in South Hall 1 of the VBC. If you need any items for your Monday class, you will be able to purchase items in our retail store before your class. Also, you may call and order regular catalog items from our retail department to be shipped to you before the school. Remember to order any items to be shipped by January 15th to ensure a timely delivery. |
| 4. |
Due to temperature preferences, PLEASE dress in layers and/or bring a sweater or light jacket for the classrooms. The VBC tries to keep the room temperatures at a moderate level. This school is held in February, but we never know what the outside temperature will be or what the inside temperature will be! |

If you are staying at The Holiday Inn (formerly the Hilton) or the Embassy Suites and plan to ship your sewing machine to the hotel, please refer to the school brochure for shipping information. If you are not staying at either of these hotels, you may ship it to the Von Braun Center, 700 Monroe Street, Huntsville, AL 35801, ATTN.: Sharon Ayers. Please state that you are with the Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion and to hold for your arrival. It is suggested that you place it in its original box and packaging and double box the package. A packing service can easily do this. Insure your machine for its full value. It should not arrive at either place before February 1st. |
| 6. |
There will be a packing service (Mail Boxes Etc.) available for you on Sunday afternoon at the VBC for shipping machines and other packages home. Packing forms for the shipping should be picked up at the VBC on Saturday (it will be announced during lunch where to pick up these forms). Please be aware that the convenience of a packing and mailing service such as Mail Boxes Etc. at the VBC is more expensive than if you packed and shipped it yourself. |
| 7. |
If you are a wholesale customer and wish to shop at the Martha Pullen Wholesale Store located at The Holiday Inn (1st floor, Twickenham Room), you must contact Kathy Pierce (800-547-4176, ext 124) or fax the form that was in your confirmation packet BEFORE THE SCHOOL even if you are an established Martha Pullen wholesale customer. No wholesale passes will be given out at the school registration desk. Only wholesale customers will be allowed to shop at the Wholesale Store. |
| 8. |
In consideration of teachers and other students, please be on time for class. Several minutes are needed to set up sewing machines. |
| 9. |
Please bring portable lighting to all classes. Most classrooms at the VBC are fairly well lit, but some are not! The Ott-Lite® is a great choice because it is compact, travels easily and gives great lighting. The Ott-Lite® will be available for sale in the Martha Pullen Retail Store set up at the VBC. |
| 10. |
The Martha Pullen Retail Store is for retail sales only. The staff of the Retail Store is not set up to handle wholesale purchases. |
| 11. |
The Martha Pullen Retail Store tries to have on hand all of the supplies that are included in the General Supply list as well as the supplies listed for each class/school. |
| 12. |
There will be no food or drink allowed in the classrooms, the Retail Shop or the Wholesale Store. Accidents do happen and we have had sewing machines, projects and merchandise damaged from overturned liquids. |
| 13. |
Please turn off your cell phones or put it on silent mode during class time. Leave the room to make or answer emergency phone calls. |
| 14. |
Because of allergies and sensitivity to perfumes and colognes that some people experience, it is requested that no one use perfume or cologne while at the school. |
| 15. |
Only students registered in schools that provide machines can borrow machines for their pre-day classes unless prior arrangements have been made. |
| 16. |
Remember that the VBC is a large building and there is much area to cover. The VBC has one or two wheelchairs for emergency use, but they cannot be left with one person or in the Retail Store. If you have any care or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to call me. |
| 17. |
A Continental Breakfast will be served each morning of the regular school (Thursday - Sunday). |
