IMPORTANT FACTS

School Registration will be held in the VBC, South Hall Foyer on Sunday, February 3rd, 4:00pm -- 7:00pm. On Monday, February 4th, school registration will be in South Hall 1 of the VBC from 7:30am - 6:00pm; on Tuesday, February 5th and Wednesday, February 6th, from 7:30am - 7:30 pm and Thursday, February7th , 7:00am - 8:30am. Adult pre-day classes (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and regular 4-day school classes will be held at the Von Braun Center (VBC). All evening events during the 4-day Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion (Thursday - Sunday) will be held at the Von Braun Center (VBC). The VBC is located at a right angle across the street from The Holiday Inn and (maps of The Holiday Inn and VBC will be available when you register with us). The Embassy Suites is located beside the VBC and is connected by a covered walkway. The Von Braun Center is referred to as the "VBC".

Parking and Transportation between The Holiday Inn and the VBC:
There will be one bus for transportation between The Holiday Inn and the VBC. The bus loop will begin at the hotel at 7:30am Monday morning. The Holiday Inn hotel pick-up/drop-off location is at the automatic doorway close to the Heritage Room on the Monroe Street side of the Holiday Inn. The VBC pick-up/drop-off locations will be at the main entrance to the South Hall. Friday night the bus will drop-off and pick-up near the main entrance to the North Hall since the Banquet and Fashion Show will be in the North Hall. Pick-up and drop-off at the Embassy Suites is by request only, please see Roger, our Transportation Director, on-board the bus for this request. Refer to a Bus Schedule for specific times for bus availability and also for the phone number to contact the bus.

You can also easily walk back and forth to both hotels if you like. If you drive to the VBC, you can park in the South Hall parking garage. The South Hall is closest to The Embassy Suites and Holiday Inn and is located under the South Hall Exhibit Area. This lot is covered and you will be protected from the weather as well as being able to get anywhere within the VBC complex inside. There is a daily parking fee of $5.00 for parking at the VBC.

If you are staying at a hotel other than The Holiday Inn or the Embassy Suites, setting up transportation is between you and the hotel where you are staying (IF they provide transportation). If you are staying at another hotel, you may find another student staying there with a car who is willing to help with your transportation.


Classrooms:
Classrooms are not assigned at this time, but the rooms that will likely be used are as follows:

South Hall: Meeting Rooms 1 through 5 and nine (9) "portable" rooms set up in South Hall I - these rooms will be called Rooms "A" through "I".

North Hall I (first floor, closest to the entrance from the North Hall Parking Lot): Banquet and Fashion Show, Friday 6:30 pm 

North Hall III (first floor, closest to the South Hall): all lunches

West Hall (near the center of the VBC complex): Table Top Clinics and Potato Bar on Thursday Night; Teacher Selling Night on Saturday

Retail Store
Break area (pre-day)
During Pre-days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) pick up your pre-paid boxed lunches at the concession stand located here. The Concessions will be open for other food and beverage items during pre-day classes for a fee. I have requested that the concessions area extend the hours of service to include the evening classes. These concession stands are set up and controlled by the VBC. Remember that Martha Pullen Co. does not provide breakfast, breaks or beverages during pre-day classes. During the School (Thursday through Sunday) a Continental Breakfast will be served each morning in this area and a light afternoon snack and drink will be provided in this area during the scheduled afternoon break times. I have requested VBC to place vending machines throughout the complex for your convenience.

NOTE: If you were not asked when you registered, you still can order a pre-paid box lunch for pre-day lunches. The boxed lunch meals contain a ham, turkey, roast beef sandwich or vegetarian sandwich (your choice), chips, fruit, a cookie and a drink. The cost is $9.00 and Martha Pullen Co. will charge the $9.00 on your school invoice. You will be given tickets for the sandwiches ordered when you check in with us at the School Registration desk. You can also order when you register with us on your arrival at the school.


Martha Pullen Wholesale Store
A Martha Pullen Wholesale Store will be set up at The Holiday Inn. You must have a Wholesale Shoppers Pass to shop in the Wholesale Store. If you are a wholesale customer and wish to shop at the Martha Pullen Wholesale Store located at the hotel, you must contact Kathy Pearce (800-547-4176, ext 124) or fax the form that was in your confirmation packet BEFORE THE SCHOOL, even if you are an established Martha Pullen wholesale customer. No wholesale passes will be given out at the school registration desk. Only wholesale customers will be allowed to shop at the Wholesale Store. You may pickup your pre-arranged wholesale shopping pass at the MPC wholesale store located in the Twickenham Room of the Holiday Inn.

Mail Boxes Etc. will be at the VBC on Saturday 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm to give information and forms for sending packages and on Sunday 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm to help with packing and mailing of packages. An announcement will be made at lunch on Saturday as to where they will be set up. Please be aware that it will be more expensive for Mail Boxes Etc. to come to the VBC to pick up and send your packages than if you did it yourself.
