Dear Friends, How would you like for us to bring some of the world's best teachers to Arizona for a Southwest Sewing Extravaganza? We have named this year's event the "Diamond Jubilee" because each student will be sewing on Viking's newest machine - The Diamond. We are coming November 12-15, 2008 and we cannot wait to come to the great Southwest again!! You are welcome to come in Tuesday to register, 4-6pm and if you can't wait until Wednesday morning to start sewing we are offering an optional sit and sew class, 5-8pm, "Little French Bonnet" for $60. This optional class is perfect for the early arrivers to get warmed-up for the "big event." We have six of the world's best heirloom sewing teachers, all of whom will teach you a class. Kathy McMakin is Executive Vice President of Martha Pullen Company and has authored three books. Two of her books are about French sewing by serger. Dody Baker has worked with me for over 20 years as a writer, designer and teacher. Peggy Dilbone from Gainesville, Florida has been traveling with Kathy and me for many years doing Martha Pullen workshops around the world. Jody Hooker, a Viking educator and licensed Martha Pullen teacher, has taught Martha Pullen workshops all over the United States. Deb Yedziniak, also a Martha Pullen licensed Husqvarna/Viking teacher, literally invented smocking on the sewing machine. She has written three books on this subject and has taught on three continents for Viking. Connie Palmer, a Viking educator, licensed Martha Pullen teacher and one of the most talented designers in the world, is a regular designer and writer for all Martha Pullen books, the television series, Martha's Sewing Room, and Sew Beautiful magazine. All of these teachers have taught for many years at the Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion in Huntsville, Alabama. They are the best. My dear friend, Sue Hausmann, Executive Vice President of Husqvarna/Viking, will speak at our Friday night banquet. Sue is always inspirational and motivational. She will present a trunk show of great sewing projects, many of which have been featured on her PBS television series, "America Sews with Sue Hausmann." She will inspire you with her life stories, both personal and professional. We will have a retail store in the hotel with big discounts on most items such as lace, batiste, embroidery CDs, books, patterns, and much, much more. We always have this type of store at our schools in Huntsville and we are shipping everything to Arizona for you to enjoy! Cathey's Sewing and Vacuum, the Husqvarna/Viking dealer in the area, will have a store with great shopping and discounts also. We have eight fabulous classes and every student will take all eight classes. We have lovingly called our schools, "from can until can't." This school will certainly be jam packed with what we hope will be more fun and learning than you have ever packed into four days! Please come join the fun! We can't wait to see you! May God Bless You and Those You Love, Martha
