You’re Invited to The Perfect Mix!

Our new online licensing course, The Perfect Mix: Sew, Serge, Embellish, is here! We would love to have you join us for all the fun. This curriculum is designed to truly include the “perfect mix” of projects and techniques. There are more than 20 projects total, ranging from elegant heirlooms to charming children’s apparel to doll clothes, home decor, bags and more. Here’s a closer look at all the sewing fun that awaits.

The projects in The Perfect Mix have been created with every type of sewist in mind—and each project is designed to share a certain collection of techniques. We’ll explore serging, embellishing, hand stitching and sashiko details. But, don’t worry; you don’t need to own an embroidery machine (or embellisher or sashiko machine) to get your Martha Pullen license. Don’t own a serger? That’s not a problem, either. There are directions for completing the required techniques and projects using a sewing machine instead.

With help from instructional videos and written patterns/instructions, our team of expert instructors (Kathy McMakin, Connie Palmer, Alicia Welcher and Missy Billingsley) will introduce all the basics to you and then, project by project, guide you to mastery of all the techniques used to complete all the projects in this course. You may use your own fabric and materials to make the projects in the course, or we have handy Perfect Mix bundles and kits available to purchase separately in our Martha Pullen online shop.

In addition to the patterns/written instructions, enjoy a step-by-step video tutorial for every project!

Our team of instructors will be just a click or call away to answer any questions about projects, patterns, techniques and teaching methods. In order to earn your license at the end of the course, you’ll submit photos of several projects (some assigned, some your choice) along with some specific technique samples.

Once you have your license, you’ll co-own the copyright with the Martha Pullen Company for all the projects, including the complete, illustrated directions. That means you’ll be able to copy the directions to share with students if you’re teaching, or you can make the projects for sale without limit. Of course, many of our students take licensing courses just for their own enjoyment! Everyone is welcome to join us.

Here’s what a few of our Martha Pullen online licensing students have to say about the experience:

“I was not sure that I would enjoy the online licensing after having attended the onsite licensing, but decided to give it a try. I love it, so much fun to listen to the teachers and see up close how to do something which is much easier to see than seeing it demonstrated in a group quite often. Being able to go back and watch again is also very helpful.” Nancy F.

“I have been blessed with the experience of attending in-person licensing.  So when I heard Alicia Welcher enthusiastically introducing ONLINE licensing, I have to admit I would curious but doubtful it would work (I am not the most technical person around). I took the first one and was very pleased with the results of online teaching-I could play them over and over, I could pause and review the technique-I was actually sewing along with the most talented and giving teachers in the industry.  Asking teachers questions and posting finished projects was easier than I anticipated. I have taken a total of four online classes and eagerly waiting for the next one.  To have these classes for lifetime to review and inspire and strengthen my own sewing experience is beyond any initial cost.  I would truly recommend to any level seamstress to try an online licensing class, it will be a very rewarding experience.” Barbara B.

“I have taken three online licensing courses!  I loved them all!  The instructors are terrific and I loved all the projects!!!  I took the courses for personal improvement and fun.  And, oh, what fun I had taking the courses and making the projects!  But I hope I can pass my passion on to others someday!” Marla C.
