Are you looking for some special projects to stitch for friends and family this holiday season? Machine embroidery projects are perfect for creating thoughtful gifts that are also quick-and-easy to make — and who doesn’t need a little quick-and-easy in their lives around the holidays? We just released our new 2017 Internet Embroidery Club this week, and it’s full of great designs you will love stitching for yourself and everyone on your gift list this year.
If you’ve been following Martha Pullen Company for years, the gorgeous Sewing Hussif collection may look familiar. These designs were inspired by our classic book, Beverly Sheldrick’s Silk Sewing Hussif. Originally stitched by hand with silk ribbon, they’re now beautifully digitized for machine embroidery. A project PDF for making the sewing hussif is included in the files. This elegant project includes pockets and pouches so you can keep all your sewing valuables close at hand.
Heirloom enthusiasts are also sure to love the beautiful Heirloom Circlets collection and the vintage-inspired Filigree collection. The circlets are the perfect size for stitching small monograms inside, and the filigree motifs include sewing-themed designs like a vintage sewing machine, a spool and thread, scissors and a pin cushion as well as vintage keys, arrows, a flour-de-lis and more.
We have three alphabets in the club this year: two elegant alphabets, the Fancy Floral Alphabet and the Woodland Alphabet — which are perfect for making home decor projects and personalized gifts — as well as a cute kid-friendly Children’s Alphabet for little ones.
Of course, designs for children are some of our most popular. This year we have a Smocking in the Hoop collection that lets you make darling “smocked” children’s garments using your embroidery machine. There are both cute “picture-smocked” motifs in this collection and geometric backgrounds.
There’s also an adorable Children’s Design collection that includes motifs for everything from astronauts to zebras, and a coordinating Child’s Quilt collection that combines these Children’s motifs with the Children’s Alphabet (yes a project PDF for the quilt is included!). This quilt is sure to be treasured and makes a great educational wall hanging, too.
In addition to the hundreds of designs included in the collections in the initial 2017 package, we’ll send monthly designs to members throughout 2017 as well – and there may just be a few bonus surprises in store, too! Expect seasonal and holiday designs that will keep you stitching all year long.
I hope all of our IEC members are enjoying planning and making projects with these designs. And if you’re not a member, I invite you to join us and receive our 2017 collection of beautiful digitized embroideries! Visit our Internet Embroidery Club site to learn more about the club and preview all of the new 2017 designs.
If you’re new to machine embroidery, check out the new video series Absolute Beginner Machine Embroidery. This show is hosted by Sara Gallegos on our sister site QNNtv.com. Episodes range from how to use embroidery software to proper placement in the hoop to help you create perfectly embroidered projects.
Thank you to all who joined us this week in Minneapolis for our School of Art Fashion Boutique and Original Sewing & Quilt EXPO. We had a great time sewing and having fun with you all!
Much Love to You All and May God Bless,
