Preview Our NEW Sewing for Baby Online Licensing

The Sewing for Baby curriculum includes heirloom projects that will be treasured for generations.

We’re thrilled to introduce you to our latest Martha Pullen Online Licensing course: Sewing for Baby! Taught by our terrific team of instructors — Kathy McMakin, Alicia Welcher, Connie Palmer and Missy Billingsley — this online licensing includes more than 30 projects, ranging from quick gifts to glorious heirlooms.

The Martha Pullen Online Licensing program was designed as a learning tool for those wanting to teach sewing, but that’s far from its sole purpose. It is a terrific learning program for aspiring teachers, as all who participate receive an exclusive ready-to-teach licensed curriculum of projects along with lots of sewing knowledge. But you can also use the curriculum to make projects for sale without limit. Or you can just take the course for fun, as many of our students do! Everyone is invited to join us for this licensing course.

A glimpse at more of the adorable projects included in this curriculum!

Projects
The projects in the Sewing for Baby curriculum include lots of sweet baby garments, including adorable first birthday outfits, a reversible safari jacket (with matching blanket) and much more. There are not one but two exquisite christening gowns:  a vintage-inspired drop-waist dress and an elegant pintucks design. There are several coordinated collections for times when you want to sew an extra-special gift for baby. And of course there are items perfect for when you need to make a quick baby shower gift, too! There’s also a precious baby quilt, a stocking, two garments thoughtfully designed for expecting mothers and so much more.

You’ll be amazed at the details and care that went into designing these projects. For example, the first birthday dress features a detachable collar, so baby can still wear the design after their big day. And baby is sure to get compliments when people see the embroidered details on the soles of their itty-bitty booties.

Make a matching bonnet, bib and booties set for a special baby.

Techniques
The techniques featured in this course will be ones you’ll want to incorporate in your sewing projects for ever after. Start with all the basics, including timeless heirloom sewing techniques. Unravel the mysteries of Madeira appliqué, puffing and bias shaping. Master beautiful techniques like shell stitch, gimpwork and hemstitching. Discover how to sew with knits, create ruffles and make tucks of all kinds. Fall in love with smocking in the hoop, quilting and shadowwork embroidery. And that’s just the beginning!

How it Works
With help from instructional videos and written instructions/patterns, our team of instructors will introduce techniques to you and then, project by project, guide you through everything this curriculum has to offer. This team of experienced educators teach by example, so while you’re learning the easiest, best methods, you will also pick up tips on how to effectively share the information with others. The online licensing learning experience is incredibly convenient, and you can rest assured our instructors will be just a click or call away to answer any questions you might have about projects, patterns, techniques and teaching methods.

The best group of sewing teachers around: Connie, Kathy, Alicia and Missy!

To earn your Martha Pullen Teacher’s License at the end of this course, you’ll submit photos of four projects (some assigned, some your choice) along with four specific technique samples. Once you have your license, you’ll co-own the copyright with Martha Pullen Co. for the written instructions/patterns for the 30+ projects included in the Sewing for Baby licensing. That means you’ll be able to copy the exclusive materials to share with your students if you choose to teach, make the projects for sale without limit or sew them for fun. No matter what your reason is for joining us, this course is sure to take your sewing skills to new heights.

We invite you join us for this unique online learning experience. The fun kicks off October 2, 2018.
