It’s here! Our brand new online licensing — Celebrating Sergers: Tricks, Trends, Technique and Tradition — is open for registration. Offered for the first time online, this course is taught by Kathy McMakin, Alicia Welcher, Connie Palmer, Pam Mahshie and Missy Billingsley. It includes so many wonderful projects and techniques; in all, there are more than 30 projects, ranging from fun, trendy items to beautiful, classic heirlooms.
Here’s your first look at the wonderful things you can create in this new online licensing course:
Let’s start with the items for babies and children. We have a gorgeous christening gown ensemble for baby that includes a christening dress, a lightweight jacket, a quilted jacket, a bonnet and a shell-edged slip.
There’s also a serge and flip baby blanket, sweet “baby knit hat, jacket and pants” ensembles, the cutest knit tuxedo jacket and pants, diaper shirts and pants and even baby buntings. Whether you’re looking to make a special heirloom keepsake or a quick shower gift, look no further than these adorable projects.
For little ones, we also have a sweet serger sundress and “serger plaid” child’s pajamas.
Of course, we have plenty of things for grown-ups, too! You’ll love creating beautiful projects like the ladies heirloom nightgown, the reversible serger jacket, the ruffled apron and the chiffon scarf.
Bag and purse projects are always popular, and this licensing includes options for an evening out, a trip to the grocery store and everything in between. There’s a belt loop bag in two versions, a grocery bag tote, “green” produce bags, a textured silk clutch, a padded laptop sleeve, a rotary ruler and cutter bag, a serger quilted tote bag and an accessory tote.
What about home decor projects? Yes, we have those! Make a fun “gift-wrapped” pillow, cover stitch shadow work placemats, a serger technique sampler quilt and a lovely heirloom tissue cover.
The projects in this course have been designed to include all the construction and embellishment tricks and techniques you’ll use forever after in your sewing life.
Through instructional videos and written patterns/instructions, our instructors will introduce serger basics and then, project by project, guide you to mastery of all the techniques used to complete all the projects in this curriculum. These professional educators teach by example, and so while you’re learning the easiest, best methods to use on your serger, you will also learn how to effectively and easily share the information with others.
The online licensing learning experience is incredibly convenient, and our instructors will be available to answer any questions you might have about projects, patterns, techniques and teaching methods. Even though you will receive more than 30 projects total, you will only need to complete the selected required technique samples and projects to receive your licensing certificate.
Once you’ve completed the required technique samples and projects, you’ll receive your Martha Pullen Teacher License. From that point on, you will share the copyright on all the projects – more than 30 individual pieces – and you’ll be able to re-print the patterns and illustrated, step-by-step directions to share with your own students.
If you don’t teach, you may make the projects for sale without limit, or, as many do, simply enjoy your enhanced serger skills while you make a series of delightful new projects. Only those licensed in this curriculum have access to these projects.
Please note: This course includes all the techniques and projects originally offered at our Serger III live retreats. As with all Martha Pullen Licensing courses, you need not have taken any other licensing in order to take this one. Each licensing curriculum is unique, and can be taken as a stand-alone or as the next step in your teacher licensing journey.
We invite you join us for this unique online learning experience. The fun kicks off October 24, 2017 but those who register by October 10 will receive a special early registration bonus: a free download of licensing instructor Missy Billingsley’s Serger Caddy video workshop!
