A Few of Our Favorite Easter Sewing Ideas

Springtime is just around the corner, and you know what that means… Easter will be here before you know it! From Easter Sunday dresses in pretty pastel hues and fun floral prints to adorable Easter bunny-inspired embellishments, there’s so much you can create this splendid sewing season. To help you get started, we’ve gathered together some of our favorite Easter sewing ideas for little ones:

Simple Sash Sundress: Elegant in its simplicity, this “simple sundress” from Kari Mecca’s book Sewing with Whimsy features a timeless silhouette. Using a solid fabric puts the focus on the simple silk ribbon sash. The darling pattern is included in Sewing with Whimsy in girls sizes 2-6 years.

Flora Dress: If you’re looking for a dress that’s perfect for happy floral prints, try Flora designed by Susan O’Connor. The simple smocked design features piping, a cute bow trim and a generous sash bow in the back. A growth tuck is also stitched around the lower section of the skirt — so she won’t grow out of this one too quickly. The pattern is included in Perfect Party Dresses in sizes 6, 8 and 10 years.

Little Rabbit Vestee Jacket and Suspender Shorts: Stitch up an adorable Easter look for your little man using Amelia Johanson’s vintage suit reproduction pattern. Vintage Dot Hidden Yoke Dress: This heirloom dress designed by Kathy Barnard was inspired by one of Martha Pullen’s antique finds. The design features sweet little details like a scalloped collar and sleeve bands with ruffled edges, as well as little embroidered roses. The construction is simple and works up quickly, making it a wonderful project for beginners and busy moms. The pattern is included in size 12M to 3T in the Sew Beautiful Favorite Heirloom Sewing Designs for Summer special issue.
