Behind the Scenes of The Perfect Mix

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at The Perfect Mix!

Our latest online licensing course, The Perfect Mix: Sew, Serge, Embellish, kicks off soon! Today, we have a special treat for you: a video interview with our wonderful team of Martha Pullen instructors—Kathy McMakin, Missy Billingsley, Connie Palmer and Alicia Welcher—and some fun stuff to show you from the course taping. We hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at the licensing and all the fun we had creating it for you!

First up, let’s get to know Kathy, Missy, Connie and Alicia a little better. How long have they been sewing? Where are they from? What are their favorite projects in The Perfect Mix curriculum? Press play to find out!

As Kathy says in the video, this licensing really does include the “perfect mix” of projects and techniques. There are more than 20 projects in all, ranging from easy but clever beginner-friendly items to glorious heirlooms. With help from both video tutorials and written patterns/directions, our instructors will introduce the basics to you and then, project by project, help you master all the techniques in this curriculum.

Kathy, Missy, Connie and Alicia traveled to F+W’s Golden, CO studio earlier this year to tape all the video tutorials for the course. Here are a few photos from the set. Can you tell how much fun we had?

Lights, camera, licensing!

The online licensing learning experience is incredibly convenient, and our team of instructors will be just a click or call away to answer any questions you might have about projects, patterns, techniques and teaching methods. To earn your Martha Pullen Teacher License, you’ll submit photos of several projects (some assigned, some your choice) along with some specific technique samples.

Once you have your license, you’ll co-own the copyright with the Martha Pullen Company for all the projects, including the complete, illustrated directions. That means you’ll be able to copy the directions to share with students if you’re teaching, or you can make the projects for sale without limit. Of course, many of our students take licensing courses just for the fun of it! Everyone is welcome! We invite you to join us.
