2017 is nearly here – have you thought about your New Year’s resolutions yet? The new year is a great time to set sewing-related goals for yourself — maybe you want to create a certain number of projects, master new techniques or share your skills by teaching others to sew. No matter your resolution, our Beginning Sewing: A Teacher’s Course online licensing can help you achieve your goals. This unique learning experience blends the love of sewing with skill-building and business opportunity; whether or not you want to share what you’ve learned in a sewing classroom, you’re sure to enjoy the wonderful collection of projects and techniques featured in this course curriculum!

The course just kicked off this week, but don’t worry you haven’t missed anything! Here are five reasons to consider joining us:

Stars Over Alabama Pillow

1. You’ll receive more than 30 exclusive projects.
Our Beginning Sewing: A Teacher’s Course curriculum is one of my favorite licensing curriculums. Originally offered as Teaching Beginning Sewing II, both online and as a popular in-person licensing retreat, the full curriculum and all video lessons are included in this newly titled licensing course. It includes everything from garments for women and children to bags, accessories, quilts, organizers and more. The projects are ideal for teaching beginning sewing, and some projects are even specifically designed for teaching children and teens how to sew! As with all of our online licensing courses, you’ll receive both written instructions and video tutorials for each project.

2. You’ll master lots of great techniques.
As you work on the projects in this curriculum you’ll learn countless techniques, from cathedral windows to installing zippers to quilting basics and more. You’ll receive Martha’s Beginning Sewing Notebook, which contains almost every beginning sewing technique imaginable. Plus, we’ll prepare you to teach all the sewing skills with confidence in your own classrooms and share tips for building a fulfilling, profitable sewing education business.

3. You’ll co-own the copyright to the curriculum.
The teacher’s license certificate you’ll receive at the end of this course will give you shared copyright ownership with Martha Pullen Company for all the projects in this curriculum and their written directions. That means you can teach the projects in your own classes, make them for resale, or just enjoy making them for yourself or to give as special gifts. Only those who are licensed in a curriculum can teach or sell these exclusive Martha Pullen projects. And even though you will receive more than 30 projects, you will need to complete just seven of them to receive your teacher’s license.

4. It’s convenient…
Because this is an online course, you can experience it all in the comfort of your own home, on your own schedule, using your own machine. We’ve had so many students who’ve wanted to attend an in-person licensing for years but were unable to do so tell us that being able to take a licensing online has been a dream come true. We’ve also had a number of students who HAVE attended our live events tell us that they love the online experience, too!

5. …and “sew” much FUN!
Last but not least, we will have so much fun together! The videos and materials are truly incredibly comprehensive and we share lots of extra tips just like we would in person! You might be asking yourself, “How do I talk to the instructors if the course is online?” Throughout this six-month course you will have full access to our Martha Pullen Licensing faculty. We’ll be just a quick message, email or phone call away to answer any question you might have about projects, patterns, techniques and teaching methods.
