Bernina Tips and Experiences

I downloaded the files, unzipped them and sent them to my software program with no problems. I use the
Bernina Artista Designer software. I haven't had time to stitch them out, but they look beautiful in the software.

Thanks to Ann for this detailed information
I have a Bernina Artista 180E and the software for my computer. I also
have Buzz Tools. I used the Buzz Tools to open the files last night. The
Alphabet is gorgeous. You sent me the files in PES which I requested.

I inserted the disk in Drive A and opened Buzz Tools.
Under File Menu;
clicked on new catalog,
a new window opened with the files for all items on the disk displayed
I clicked on the small box in the upper right hand corner
then the little boxes on all files was highlighted
clicked OK.
The next window opened and all the files were displayed, 8 to a page;
(Using the Page Menu I can view each page.)
On the first page I highlighted the A and then clicking on the Tools Menu,
clicked "extract zip file".
When Buzz tools had extracted the file it saved to the disk as an unzipped
file.

I closed Buzz tools
Opened my Artista Software;
Clicked on the File Menu
Clicked on Open files
When that window opened I scrolled up to the A drive,{mine opens to a
default file "My Designs"};
Then clicked my option the bottom of the window "open all files" or I could
have clicked the "Open PES files"
Then the all the files on the disk are displayed.

{Now I could have used some of the components of the Artista Software to
unzip the files, but at the present Buzz Tools is much faster for me. }
I clicked on the file for the letter A as an unzipped file and clicked OK.
It was then displayed on Artista Software screen. I can resize or what
ever now if I wish.
Click on the File menu and "send to the {sewing} machine".
{make sure you are connected to the machine with the appropriate computer
cable}

I usually write the pattern to my blank personal card then I can use my
computer for other "fun stuff" while the machine is embroidering.
When the pattern is on the blank card, you can pull up the design just like
any other card design.

On the computer I can save the file to my hard drive. If I save to the
hard drive it will automatically save as an ART file (unzipped) in the sub
file (My Designs or etc.) I select. Or I can save to the floppy disk as an
ART file (unzipped); or don't have to save again if I don't want to.

Then stitch to my hearts content.

I hope my directions help, I am sure others will send too. I tried to make
the directions easy. -- Ann
