I almost called this the "Swiss appliqued bunnies dress" since that is really what it most resembles. I changed my mind because the "bunnies" do not have eyes and noses. I am just kidding, probably, because I think the designs are cherries. Cherry lace was very popular in the early part of the 20th century. This little middy dress is made of Swiss netting embroidered with Swiss batiste, with the cherries and the see-saw windows on the bottom. The dress is lined with a silk lining. The neckline and the sleeves are finished with a double thickness of netting gathered to look a little like a ruffle. The back is closed with snaps. |
